Woman Killed in Queens Pedestrian Accident When Car Jumps Sidewalk

According to the authorities, this Queens pedestrian accident occurred last night at approximately 11:35 p.m.  An unidentified 60-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk on Jamaica Avenue near Sutphin Boulevard when suddenly, an 85-year-old male driving a Chrysler sedan lost control of the vehicle and ran up onto the sidewalk.  His car slammed into the woman and she was killed instantly.  The driver remained at the scene of the crash and he was not arrested.
