One Killed, Six Injured in Long Island Car Accident When Cement Truck Hits School Bus

People who drive cement trucks have difficult jobs, particularly when they have to navigate through heavy traffic and concrete overpasses.  However, they are still expected to drive in a reasonable manner and to avoid actions that lead to extreme danger.  Unfortunately, something went very wrong yesterday when a cement truck hit an overpass and ultimately crashed into a school bus.  This Long Island car accident led to the death of the bus drivers and to injuries to six others.

According to the authorities, this Long Island car accident occurred yesterday when the driver of a cement truck attempted to make a turn in Matinecock and wound up hitting a low-hanging Long Island Railroad overpass.  That collision ripped of the cylinder from that truck, and the driver lost control of the vehicle as a result.  The truck then veered into the path of an oncoming school bus and the two vehicles collided.  The bus driver was killed, the bus monitor was critically injured and four children were transported to a nearby hospital.  Police are still investigating the situation.
