According to the authorities, this Bronx hit-and-run accident occurred on at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Saturday morning.  A 42-year-old male and his friend were attempting to cross the Grand Concourse at East 170th Street in the Mount Eden section of the Bronx when they were run down by a 37-year-old man in an SUV.  The man allegedly kept driving after the crash and attempted to turn right onto Mount Eden Avenue.  However, his vehicle came to a stop when he crashed into an ambulance that was responding to the scene.  The driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and other charges.
