Woman on Rollerblades Hit by City Bus and Seriously Injured in New York Pedestrian Accident

There are many different types of transportation that people will use in the city, and this includes everything from motor vehicles, bicycles and even rollerblades.  Regardless of how someone is moving around, people need to be constantly aware of others in order to avoid serious collisions.  Unfortunately, something went very wrong today when a woman on rollerblades was hit and seriously injured in a collision with a city bus in a New York pedestrian accident.  Police are still attempting to find out what exactly happened.

According to the authorities, this New York pedestrian accident occurred this morning at 8:15 a.m.  An unidentified woman who is believed to be in her 30's was rolling on her rollerblades in a southbound direction on 12th Avenue.  At that time, an M42 bus that was moving in the opposite direction attempted to make a left turn at 43rd Street.  The bus and the woman collided at that point, and she became stuck under one of the tires for approximately 15 minutes.  She was finally freed and rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.  Police are attempting to determine who had the right-of-way in the collision.

New York Personal Injury Lawyers

Clearly, more information would be necessary in order to assign fault in this New York pedestrian accident.  If the bus driver was at fault for the crash, it could lead to the filing of a New York personal injury lawsuit by the injured woman against the city.  However, she would likely have to take a few steps with the municipality before filing such a claim.  If she recovers damages, she could be compensated for her medical costs, her lost income and her pain and suffering.

If you or someone you love has been harmed in a crash, you need to seek the help of New York personal injury lawyers who have been fighting for the rights of the injured for 40 years.  Contact Fitzgerald & Fitzgerald today to schedule a free initial consultation.
