According to the authorities, this Queens car accident occurred at 4 a.m. this morning near the off ramp for the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, near 25-06 Queens Plaza.  The unidentified male driver of a Volkswagen was moving off of the bridge at what is believed to be a high rate of speed and jumped the curb.  As a result of the crash, the driver lost an arm and the female passenger in the vehicle suffered what was described as a serious head injury.  No update was provided regarding their conditions.
