According to 1010 WINS:
"Cops were on the lookout for a driver who fled the scene of a fiery crash early Sunday in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn.
The driver of a taxi involved in the accident was found dead at the scene, police said. Investigators couldn't immediately identify the body because it had been "burned beyond recognition," a police source told the Daily News.
The fatal crash started when a blue Dodge Caravan traveling on 65th Street smashed into the taxi sending both vehicles careening in opposite directions, slamming into parked cars and knocking down a tree, police said.
Both vehicles then burst into flames. A total of three vehicles were completely gutted by the fire.
"There was a very loud explosion...huge!" neighborhood resident Paul Jizewski, 24, told the Daily News. "I kept hearing more popping after that. I came outside and there were three cars on fire."
The driver fled the scene on foot, and investigators are looking for help from any witnesses who could provide information.
