According to the authorities, this Bronx hit-and-run accident occurred last night at 10:45 p.m.  An unidentified 43-year-old man was attempting to cross the street at the intersection of East 163rd Street and Third Avenue when he was hit.  The collision sent the man reeling into the path of an oncoming sanitation truck, which also hit the man.  He did not survive the impact, and the sanitation truck driver remained at the scene.  He is not expected to face any charges.
