Ice storms wreak havoc on roads no matter where they occur, and when these storms arise anyone who is out on the roads encounters danger.  Tragically, one man whose vehicle became disabled during an ice storm in the Poconos last night was hit and killed by a tour bus as he stood along the side of that vehicle.  In addition to the fatality, several passengers on the bus involved in the collision were injured as the enormous vehicle toppled after the impact.  Police are still attempting to sort out the situation.

According to several reports, this Poconos car accident occurred last night at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Interstate 380 in Clifton Township, Lackawanna County, about six miles north of the Tobyhanna Exit for Route 423 in Monroe County.  A man was driving a Nissan SUV on Interstate 380 when it spun out of control because of the ice.  The driver of the vehicle got out of it and was standing along the side when a tour bus came along and hit the man after attempting to avoid the disabled vehicle.  He was killed at the scene, and several bus passengers were injured when it rolled onto its side after impact.  None of the names of those involved have been released pending notification of family members.
