When someone hits a pedestrian in a New York car accident and then flees the scene, it only adds an additional and unnecessary layer of work for authorities to the aftermath of the incident. More often than not, drivers involved in New York hit-and-run accidents are ultimately identified and apprehended, and this appears to be the case with a Queens hit-and-run accident that occurred over the weekend that led to the arrest of a 17-year-old driver.
According to authorities, this Queens hit-and-run accident occurred on Saturday night at approximately 10:30 p.m. An unidentified 31-year-old man was attempting to cross the street at the intersection of 108th Street and 63rd Road in Forest Hills when he was hit and critically injured by the driver of a Nissan. Avraham Mullokandov, 17, the driver of the Nissan, was identified and apprehended. He faces charges of vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident, and a license restriction violation. A second vehicle subsequently hit the man, but the driver of that vehicle remained at the scene and was not charged.
