According to police, the New York bicycle accident at issue occurred just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday on Hudson Street near West 12th Street on the Lower East Side.  The driver of a Jeep then fled the scene, but EMTs noticed a bumper had fallen off of the vehicle.  About 90 minutes later, those same EMTs were responding to another accident and noticed the same vehicle on a flatbed truck, so they notified police who arrested the driver while he was sitting in the tow truck's passenger cabin.  No word was given as to the condition of the bicyclist who was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
