According to the New York Post:
"It was a seizure after all.
After four years of denying blame, an off-his-meds epileptic cabbie Hassan Afzal today admitted in a Manhattan courtroom that he caused the death of a promising young college student, his passenger, in a horrific 2006 smashup on the West Side Highway.
Hassan Afzal, 25, won't spend a single day in jail under today's plea deal. He will serve five years probation.
This, despite a long trail of wrongs and wreckage, including the death of Danielle Ricco, 21 -- crushed after being thrown from Afzal's careening Crown Victoria taxi -- and the injuries of three other young women in the cab.
Afzal also admitted today that some weeks before the crash, he stopped taking the medication that controlled his seizures -- and kept driving his cab."
No word was given as to whether a civil suit was filed.
