According to authorities, this New York hit-and-run accident occurred at 10:15 p.m. last night 27-year-old Ricardo Gonzalez was riding his bicycle in a northbound direction on Eighth Avenue near West 47th Street.  Suddenly, he was hit from behind by the driver of a Lexus.  He was thrown from his bicycle and then hit by another vehicle.  The driver of the Lexus, 40-year-old Clark Gettinger, never slowed down after the crash, but he was apprehended a few blocks away.  He was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and vehicular assault.  The bicyclist remains in critical condition.
