Mitchell Gittin was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 29, 1953. He graduated from Wantagh High School in 1971 and obtained a B.A. in Philosophy from Trinity College in 1975. Mitchell attended the St. John's University School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 1980.
