Alberto Casadevall

Alberto Casadevall was born in Sancti-Spiritus, Cuba.  In 1969 he emigrated to Spain and then to the United States. Alberto obtained his law degree from New York Law School in 1984 and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1985. He was previously an associate with the law firms of Fardella & Feldman in Baldwin, New York and the respective law offices of Pulvers, Pulvers, Thompson & Kutner, P.C. and Legan & Welsh in New York City.  Alberto’s first trial verdict in 1986 while employed by the Pulvers law firm resulted in a verdict of $1,025,000 in Supreme Court: County of Nassau for a motorist injured in an auto accident. Alberto had his own private practice from 1989 to 1995 and was an Of Counsel trial attorney for Fitzgerald & Fitzgerald, P.C. during that time.  Since 1995 Alberto has been associated with Fitzgerald & Fitzgerald, P.C. as one of our trial attorneys.  Currently, Alberto is a senior trial attorney supervising a litigation group and handles cases from inception through trial.  Alberto has tried many childhood lead poisoning cases in different venues in the Supreme Court of the State of New York and has obtained five verdicts in excess of $1,000,000 dollars in lead poisoning cases.  Alberto has been a ground breaker in trying cases with low blood lead levels and obtaining the cost of future private schooling and future psychological therapies in trial verdict awards for lead poisoned children.  In one notable case, the Appellate Term: Second Department sustained a verdict of $806,000 for a lead poisoned child who suffered a single blood lead level of 10 ug/dl.  Alberto also obtained a verdict of over $1,500,000 for a pedestrian victim of an automobile accident.  Alberto has also obtained two separate $1,000,000 settlements in lead poisoning cases in Queens County and Bronx County, as well an numerous settlements in the mid-to high six figures in cases involving lead poisoning, construction accidents, and motor vehicle accidents.  Alberto has an active trial practice and is also involved in handling post-trial motions and appeals.  Alberto is fluent in Spanish and interacts personally with all his clients.  Alberto is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association where he was invited to lecture in a CLE involving litigating childhood lead poisoning cases.
